What is better than spending time in a flower field on a bright, summery day? How about spending it with an adorable little three year old who loves to twirl and dance?? I loved getting together with the Reed family for their summer session (I have the best clients ever!) and taking some photos of them in the field. Little Z is growing so fast, and I think she’s getting excited to welcome her new baby brother or sister in January! SO incredibly happy for this family. I’m so fortunate to be able to share these moments with them and to help capture those little toddler hands, that blonde hair, and those bright blue eyes! Thanks for being so awesome Reed Family!
My favourite little subject is just a few days ahead of his third birthday. How time has flown! I’ve been home with him since the first day he came home from the hospital, and not a day goes by where I don’t stop and thank God for my little miracle. It’s true what they say though… the days are long but the years are short. There are days when I just want to pull my hair out, days where he pushes my buttons to see how far he can get, days where there are heaps of dishes in the sink and laundry on the floor. But it’s all worth it. What a gift to be able to stay home with him full-time and watch him (and HELP him) learn and grow. To see him grow into such a polite, (mostly) well-mannered little boy. He’s my little musical boy, my emotional boy, my independent ‘I can do it myself!’ boy. Smart, imaginative, crafty, caring, and laugh-out-loud funny. He makes me laugh every. single. day!
I put together some of my favourite snapshots from the year. Nothing fancy, just his everyday activities on film for me to remember. I’m pretty nostalgic that way. From his paint-covered hands to his muddy boots… this year was all about exploration, curiosity, fun and imagination. Here is William in 40 photos<3
The best part of my job is getting to watch families grow and expand. What starts off as just a couple, turns into a family of three, then four…. then grandkids etc. It’s been a pleasure working with Chelsey and Dave for a few years, and watching their family of three turn into a family of four (with a second baby boy for that matter!). How cool is it, that I also got the opportunity to photograph Dave’s parents and sister too? I love watching the big groups get together and helping them capture some of those really fun moments when everyone is running around. This Blue Jays family was great and little Zach was such an angel for this shoot 😀
Bennett <3 What can I say about this little boy? He is one of the strongest little fighters I’ve ever met. He was born on a lovely April day. What joy! I even got to hold him at less than 24 hours old! However, a few days later he was sadly diagnosed with a heart condition that wasn’t seen on his prenatal anatomy scan. He was rushed to sick kids hospital in Toronto and underwent open-heart surgery, tests and lots and lots of medication. Mom and Dad stuck by his side for weeks, watching as Bennett slowly started to recover from his surgery. It took a little bit of time, but once everyone was back home, settled, and healed, we were able to get in a little session of this little fighter! Welcome to the world Bennett. It’s pretty awesome here, despite the rocky start. You will have many stories to tell as you get older, and I’m sure your Mom and Dad will recount to you the scary and sad emotions they went through for those first few weeks!! Much love xoxo.
Another beautiful spring blossom session to blog! We met on the early side of a beautiful Saturday morning. I remember it being stinking hot at 10 AM and thinking…this is perfect (other than the beads of sweat starting to form on our faces). What a lovely family to photograph! Little Elly was so proud to show off her baby brother, Ethan. And what a cute pair of blue-eyed little ones they make.
