Spring blooms are one of the times of year that I look most forward to. New life, beautiful colour, and that smell of freshly opened flowers in the air. This session is the embodiment of spring sessions! So much pink EVERYWHERE! I absolutely love it (especially since pink is my favourite colour). The Potts clan is very special to me. Spending an hour photographing them didn’t seem like work for one minute. Everything was fun, with so much laughter and you could tell that everyone was genuinely happy to be there. This family hadn’t had photos done together in many years, and I am so honoured that they chose me to help capture this point in time <3 You guys rock. Seriously.
I love snow. I don’t necessarily love the cold though. But I think the best part about this session was spending time with Paul’s parents, who came down from the UK for a visit. They have never seen, nor experienced snow like this before. It was so much fun to see them all interacting and playing in the snow like kids (especially when Mr and Mrs Campbell started throwing some snowballs at each other!!).
You know what I love? Surprises!
One of my favourite things to do is help my clients give the gift of a photo shoot to their loved ones as a surprise gift. I love how happy it makes parents. I love how happy it makes grand parents even! Nothing is better than happy portraits with the people you love. These three lovely siblings decided they wanted to give their mom and dad a photo session for Christmas. With Shannon visiting from BC, and the two boys working close to the holidays, we didn’t have a lot of time to work with. Unfortunately we had some venue problems that ended in us standing in the pouring rain, we rescheduled for a few days later. The weather was much more cooperative, but it was nice to have two different settings for photos. What a lovely family, full of love and togetherness for the holidays. I am so happy to have met everyone – and I hope we get the chance to do it again sometime 😀 <3
Gosh, it’s crazy to think this session happened back in the spring already. How time has flown!
I had the opportunity to hang out with this lovely family on a bright, sunny evening at the Civic Gardens. The kids (who are all cousins!) had a fabulous time running around and being…well, kids! It kept me on my toes, and I’m sure I broke a sweat by the end of it all. Grandpa was celebrating his birthday, so what better way to celebrate than by doing family photos? It’s just so hard to get everyone together these days, and I was happy I was able to help them out when it came to documenting their family in the now. Thanks for a great time, guys! I hope to see you all again soon
There are just too many wonderful things to say about this family. I could honestly write all day. These people are very dear to my heart, and I am so blessed to know them! I was pretty excited to be able to spend an hour with them and capture some of their all-around goofiness on camera. I mean, really, look at them. They are so natural in front of the lens. Here’s to many more lovely photo sessions with these folks – cheers Skinner family!
